September News at Flat Tire
Hello Fall! One of the best times of year for riding in Western PA. Keeping your bike in tip-top shape is key to enjoying that perfect day out riding. For those of us who haven’t been virtuosos with bike maintenance this summer we will be offering some fall service specials. Beat the rush and let us help you clear out the cocktail of sweat, sand, mud and grime that collects your chains, derailleurs, pivot points, and shock mounts.
How Often Should I Service My Bike?
It really depends on how often you ride. For the weekend warrior, once every three to four months is about right. As for what we need to do to the bike, it all depends on the condition of it. Don’t forget to take advantage of your first FREE standard tune up if you bought your bike at Flat Tire Co. This helps us gauge your riding and make recommendations for future service dates.
We will first look at the drive train for wear and tear. That’s the chain, cassette, derailleurs and crank. It’s the key part that moves the bike. Following that, we inspect brakes, cables and the suspension for any fluid leaks.
Mention this blog and save $10 on labor + 10% on parts for any check up or tune package.
